Inslee Best recently welcomed the addition of two experienced and highly-regarded lawyers to our practice, Kinnon Williams, who joined us in June 2014, and Todd Henry, who after weeks spent working on cases out of town, settled into his new office in July 2014.

            Kinnon Williams

Kinnon’s has focused his practice in the areas of municipal law, eminent domain and real estate law.  He has extensive experience in matters involving real estate acquisition, public works projects, taxation, impact fees and financing options.  Kinnon provides general and special counsel to individuals, municipalities, major corporations.  He is also a frequent speaker at professional and trade conferences and continuing legal education seminars, and is the co-author of the Washington State Bar Association’s Real Property Desk Book Chapter on Eminent Domain.  Recently he completed the update to that chapter with the assistance of Jackson Bennett of our office.

Kinnon provides weekly seminars for the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts on Open Government Training.  He also serves as Chair of the King County Bar Association Judicial Campaign Fairness Committee; Co-Chair of the King County Bar Association Judicial Conferencing Committee; Vice-Chair of the Evergreen Hospital Healthcare Foundation, and is a member of the Alumni Advisory Board of the Washington Center in Washington D.C.  He previously served as Co-Chair of the King County Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Screening Committee and was membership chair of the Washington State Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Executive Board.  Kinnon’s honors include selection by his peers as a “Super Lawyer” in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine for 2013 and 2014.

Kinnon will be co-chairing two upcoming Continuing Legal Education Seminars, Easements in Washington, on October 30, 2014, and Eminent Domain, on December 8 and 10, 2014.

           Todd Henry

Todd Henry’s practice focuses on construction law and civil litigation.  Before coming to Inslee Best, Todd was a partner with Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker in Seattle, where he spent the first nearly 13 years of his practice.

Todd is a second career lawyer, having grown up in a family in which his father was a third-generation HVAC contractor and his mother was a commercial real estate broker.  Todd spent nearly 20 years in construction management before he obtained his law degree, working for some of the Seattle area’s best known contractors.  He also spent some years as a partner in a design/build mechanical contracting business.

An experienced litigator admitted in both Washington and Idaho, Todd has represented his clients in numerous trials, arbitrations and appeals, including in several appearances before the Washington State Courts of Appeals and before both the Washington and Idaho State Supreme Courts.   Todd is a frequent lecturer to construction industry professional organizations, and he has volunteered for such diverse groups as the Associated General Contractors of Washington, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington, the National Electrical Contractors Association and the Mechanical Contractors of Western Washington.   He is a member of the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and has taught NITA’s Deposition Skills Program since 2006,

A regular author on construction law topics, Todd is a contributor to “Nuts and Bolts,” the construction blog of the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce.   Todd’s articles on construction law issues have been published around the country in publications including Northwest Construction Magazine, Construction Business Owner Magazine and the Engineering News-Record.  Since 2002, Todd has been a contributing author and editor to Aspen Publishing’s annual Construction Law Update, and he authored a chapter in each of the last two editions of ABA Publishing’s comprehensive volume, Federal Government Construction Contracts.

We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with both Kinnon and Todd at Inslee Best!
