Estate Planning & Probate
Inslee Best’s estate planning clients cross a broad spectrum of the population, from young couples with modest estates to individuals and families with large and complex holdings. Our lawyers enjoy a thriving estate planning, gift and estate tax and charitable giving practice, through which they provide a wide range of services, from preparing a Will or providing charitable giving advice to creating a succession plan for a family business. Areas of particular interest include the creation and use of:
- Dynasty, charitable and qualified personal residence trusts
- Revocable living trusts
- Family limited partnerships
- Limited liability companies
- Private foundations
- Succession arrangements for family businesses
In addition, we are one of a handful of law firms that use unique planning tools to minimize income taxes on IRAs and 401(k) plans. When necessary, we connect clients with other knowledgeable professionals such as CPAs, financial planners and insurance specialists.
Complementing our estate planning practice is our probate practice, which
helps personal representatives administer estates and surviving spouses
transfer assets under community property agreements. Our goal in
this regard is to help clients plan for the disposition of assets after
death in a way that minimizes costs and reduces -- or even eliminates --
their tax liability. Much of our probate work is performed by trained
paralegals and associate lawyers who deliver excellent service at a reasonable
cost.
